Your Teardrop

As you quivered,
Lost in thought,
I walked out,
Into my reflect,
Unsure, hesitant,
A break from our past,
All I know is you will wait –
Through this moan of the night,
As I hold but your short shadow tight,
Like you, an aspirant to neglect,
I turn away in to my unkempt shade
Run in smoldering sweat from kind heat
Into the hearth of my unquenched solitude,
Contemplate that drop you held unshed,
In the flicker of your drooped eyelid,
So imbalanced yet restrained, so perfect.
