Struggling to Speak -Public Speaking!

I would stutter.
Sweat and mutter.
Stones on my tongue.
Intones of braying.
Ineloquent thought.
Flight to fright.
Death of the word.
Breath harried, hard.
Until- you laughed.
You mocked, that glint.
Your disdain, contempt.
Deep within, touched.
Determined, ignited.
It helped, rocked.

  1. I love that image of ‘stones on my tongue’. That’s apt. I can relate to this, that tension, that heart racing as you prepare to ask something or share a view… why do we get so worried about speaking in front of others? Hmm… very nice work.
