Growth Aspiration

You drew pictures on the wall
Stretched out to be father tall
Muralled crayons in rainbow hue
Leveraged fantasy where due
Picked them dreams in little hands
Drumming danced story strands
Sprinkled chocos on trenched fairylands
Angrily trampled on clubfooted bed
From school on a Dadar rainy day we hid
Looked to clear the sky of learn mime
Barred friends for weekly family time
Missing fat Mongini’s oozing cakes
Portuguese Church priest’s warm handshakes

Suddenly I realise of time
You are taller than me.

  1. Once again, so, so well written! Especially

“From school on a Dadar rainy day we hid”

I can imagine everything so vividly from your words!

  2. we are planning to recite this poem for our competitions…. I am sure we will bag the first prize……
